A murder investigation is underway after a man died from a head injury in Sheffield

The 23-year-old was found seriously injured in Darnall on Saturday (8 June) and died in hospital on Monday (11 June)

A murder investigation has been launched in Sheffield after the death of a man who was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

Police were called at around 16:30 BST on Saturday (June 08) to reports of a serious assault on Staniforth Road in Darnall.

A 23-year-old man was found with head injuries and taken to hospital, where he died on Monday (June 11).

A murder investigation is now underway and detectives are appealing to speak to any witnesses and view any CCTV or dashcam footage.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the investigation and remains in custody.
