Man, 27, seriously injured in savage street gang attack in Huddersfield

A 27-year-old man suffered a serious facial injury after being beaten by a group of men on a street in Huddersfield.

The attack took place in the Towngate area of ​​Newsome on Friday evening, with details being released by police today. Two men have been arrested in connection with the attack.




A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Towngate in Newsome at around 9.27pm on Friday 7 June to reports that a man had been seriously assaulted in the street by a group of men.

“Emergency services attended and located the victim who had suffered a serious facial injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. Two Huddersfield men aged 22 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the matter and have since been released on police bail as inquiries continue.”
