Man ‘robbed at knife point’ in Coventry as two teenagers arrested

Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint in Coventry. It happened on Clay Lane in Stoke in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, June 11).

Police were alerted to a man being threatened with a knife at around 5.20am. He was parked in his car when he was confronted by robbers who took cash and his mobile phone, West Midlands Police said.



Officers rushed to the scene and, following a foot chase, arrested two 15-year-old boys nearby less than 10 minutes later, West Midlands Police said. A knife was also recovered.

Police said the two teenagers were detained on suspicion of robbery and taken into custody for questioning. One was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife and assaulting an officer and the other for drug use, West Midlands Police said.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Tackling robbery is a priority for us and we are already running Operation Ruby to catch anyone involved.”
