Bradford’s Smile Cookies campaign raises over $21,000 for WOW-Living

Tim Hortons restaurant owners and guests helped break a new Smile Cookie record by raising $21,376.50 for the local non-profit

Tim Hortons restaurant owners and guests helped break a new Smile Cookie record by raising $21,376.50 for Bradford-based local non-profit WOW-Living by assisting with their new truly affordable housing project.

This year in Bradford, local Tim Hortons restaurant owner Perry Thornton, WOW-Living volunteers, organization members and guests helped raise $21,376.50 to support the WOW-Living Truly Affordable Housing Project.

WOW-Living’s mission is to give people living in poverty the tools and resources they need to build stability and increase resilience. WOW-Living provides a warming center – Out of the Cold Cafe, hot meals, community support, A Hand Up Christmas Wishlist for Bradford residents, clothing at A Hand Up Clothing Room and is currently working on a Real Housing Project ” at accessible prices”. WOW-Living invests every minute and dollar donated intentionally into the lives of the people it serves. This can include covering a few nights in a hotel for a homeless friend, putting gas in someone’s car to take them to a shelter, driving a friend to a meeting, helping one of our friends move, filling out forms, navigating the system welfare or by buying them a cup of coffee, groceries or a meal. Financial donations can also go towards training costs, operating costs associated with Out of the Cold Cafe and other affordable housing initiatives.

Without each and every one of you who purchased Smile Cookies, we wouldn’t be able to help increase stability in the lives of WOW-Living guests and provide greater support to those in need, I’d also like to give a huge shout out to those who -volunteered to decorate cookies, stand with cookie cutters in the drive-thru, pick up trash from customers while answering any questions people may have had about WOW-Living, and for being AWESOME once again !

  • The first Smile Cookie campaign in 1996 raised funds to support Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Since then, the annual charity drive has raised a total of more than $111 million for organizations and charities that are selected each year by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.
  • Nationwide, Tim Hortons restaurant owners support more than 600 local charities and community groups through the Smile Cookie campaign
