King Charles welcomes David Beckham and Rod Stewart to the Foundation Awards

King Charles was spotted cracking jokes with David Beckham at the inaugural King’s Foundation Awards tonight (Tuesday). The King was all smiles as he celebrated his foundation’s work alongside other celebrity ambassadors including Rod Stewart and Naomi Campbell.

The awards showcased the work of students, faculty, alumni and partners who have contributed to the organization’s charitable efforts in London. The foundation is the custodian of Highgrove Gardens and offers workshops, programs and short courses focused on heritage and craft skills at its Barley Court education center on the property.

Charles and Beckham were seen laughing and heard discussing England’s chances at Euro 2024, with the former Manchester United midfielder telling the King: ‘We’ll be ready. Gareth will be ready.”

The event at St James’s Palace, which is set to become an annual event in the King’s Foundation calendar, was attended by celebrity supporters and ambassadors for the charity, including broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful and actress Sienna Miller. Charles presented the evening’s final award, the King Charles III Prize for Harmony, to South Korean diplomat and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

This award was created to recognize people who support the values that underpin the mission of The King’s Foundation and my own hope for a world where we live in harmony with nature.”

He went on to pay tribute to the diplomat for his “tireless dedication” to promoting these values internationally. As well as its education programs to safeguard traditional skills, the foundation, based at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire, aims to revitalize communities through urban regeneration and planning and support sustainable food production and teach rural skills.
