Descartes Systems Group buys BoxTop Technologies for $13 million

TORONTO — Descartes Systems Group has acquired BoxTop Technologies Ltd., a maker of software for small and mid-sized logistics services companies, for $13 million.

Companies use the BoxTop platform to manage the movement of goods from quote to routing, booking and final delivery.

BoxTop is based in Windsor, England.

The company was a partner with Descartes prior to the acquisition.

Scott Sangster, managing director of logistics providers at Descartes, called the deal “the next logical step”.

Descartes specializes in supply chain software and logistics management applications.
