Erik ten Hag will remain as Manchester United manager following the completion of the season review

Manchester United’s Erik ten Haag is set to remain manager of the club next season as INEOS completes its post-season review. The Dutch manager has been under pressure after a poor performance in the league and Champions League. However, an FA Cup victory over local rivals Manchester City secured Erik ten Hag’s stay.

Conformable Fabrizio Romano, the Dutchman is to enter into discussions for a new contract. Negotiations for a new contract and a summer transfer plan are ongoing with his camp, while INEOS have been quite impressed with Erik ten Hag’s influence in developing a younger generation of players including Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo, which also aligns with the INEOS Mantra of investing in youth players.

Significant injury problems during last season and an FA Cup triumph went in Erik ten Hag’s favor as he will be at the helm for next season at Manchester United. Despite a lengthy review process and speculation of many managers linked for the job, Erik ten Hag can finally be freed from the sword hanging over his head and focus on planning for next season with Manchester United.

In May, after an emphatic victory in the FA Cup final, Erik ten Hag was asked about his future at United. The Dutchman highlighted his two trophies and his desire to win more at the club.

“The team is progressing and we are winning trophies. Two trophies in two years is not bad. Three finals is not bad, but we have to keep going. I am not happy about it.

We have to do better and if they don’t want me then I’ll go anywhere else to win trophies because that’s what I’ve done my whole career.”
