Rovers sign Bristol City winger Ephraim Yeboah on loan | News

We are delighted to confirm the signing of winger Ephraim Yeboah on a season-long loan from Bristol City.

The 17-year-old has played ten times for the Sky Bet Championship side and arrives at the Eco-Power Stadium looking for his first run in senior EFL football.

Italian-born Yeboah spent the latter part of last season on loan at Bath City, who reached the National League South play-offs.

“I’m really excited to get over the line and get a season-long loan,” he said. “I’m excited to get going.

“This is a big club who pushed hard for the play-offs last season and were unlucky not to reach the final. I’m here for this season and I hope we can get to League 1.

“The manager spoke to me about the goals and expectations for the season and the fan base. It was all positive things.”

Rovers manager Grant McCann said: “We wanted to bring more competition into the wide areas and we had options on the list but we kept coming back to Ephraim’s name.

“He’s a boy I’ve followed religiously for a while. We love everything about it – it’s very fast, very direct, it’ll get fans off their seats. He can play left or right, he can play nine or ten, so he’s really versatile in the way he plays. He is a strong boy.

“I think it’s a really good signing for us and it’s one we’re really excited about.”

Yeboah is Rovers’ fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Joe Sbarra, Jordan Gibson, Harry Clifton and Tom Nixon.
