Image call as police hunt flashing rail

Police have released a photo of a man who may have information about a lightning strike that struck a busy train line in Birmingham. A man exposed himself on a Cross City Line train from Birmingham to Lichfield and then performed an indecent act.

It happened on a train to Lichfield which would have passed through Erdington and Sutton Coldfield on Monday, April 8. Police said a man boarded a train at Shenstone at around 8.30am and exposed himself to a 14-year-old boy.



The man then looked at the teenager and performed a sexual act. The man and the teenager got off the train in Lichfield. British Transport Police released a picture of a man who was white, clean-shaven and had light brown hair.

He wore a navy blue hooded jacket over a white shirt. Police said: “Detectives investigating an incident of indecent exposure are today releasing this image.

British Transport Police would like to speak to this man in connection with indecent acts on a Cross City Line train running between Shenstone and Lichfield City stations.

“If you recognize the man pictured or have any information about the incident, please contact officers by texting 61016, or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 516 of April 8. Information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
