People with hospital or GP appointments in Cornwall are being told to turn up as normal today – as NHS Cornwall continues to fix a major IT fault.

Work continued overnight to get systems up and running again after the failure, which NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System says was not caused by a cyber attack.

A number of meetings and operations have had to be rescheduled, but affected people will be contacted with new dates.

A spokesman for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System, said:

“Outpatient programs, operations and planned procedures will continue and patients should come to the hospital or health center as planned.

“Anyone who had a rescheduled appointment today will be contacted directly to agree a new date.

“Surgeries will be open and people with doctor’s appointments should continue to attend as planned.

“To help our teams as we get back to normal, if you need urgent care today, please use 111 online or by phone for advice on the most appropriate place for your care. The latest waiting and opening times for minor injuries units are available online.

“In a life-threatening emergency, keep calling 999.”
