The A444 has been closed live after a road accident between the A5 and Nuneaton

Motorists are being warned that the A444 is closed after a car crash between the A5 and Nuneaton. Traffic website Inrix reports that the busy stretch of road is closed in both directions.

This is along Weddington Road. It reported: “The A444 Weddington Road has been closed in both directions due to an accident, one vehicle involved from the A5 to Watitune Avenue.”

The live traffic reporting website said traffic was “doing well”. However, as commuters start heading to work and families head off to school, the main route will become much busier.

The road closure is in effect from around 5am. CoventryLive has contacted Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service about the accident.
