Euro 2024 preview: 10 Liverpool players ready for action

Ten Liverpool players are set to compete at Euro 2024 – find out when and where they’ll be in action with our tournament preview.

A Scotland team led by Andy Robertson will face hosts Germany in Munich in the opening match on Friday night.

The European Championship runs from June 14 to July 14, when the final will take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

With 24 countries involved in the first leg, the top two from each of the six groups will automatically advance to the round of 16, along with the best four third-placed teams.

Group A: Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai

Robertson’s Scotland kick off the Euros against Germany at the Allianz Arena on Friday 14 June (8pm kick-off) and are joined in Group A by Hungary and their captain. Dominik Szoboszlai.

Hungary begin their campaign with a match against Switzerland in Cologne on Saturday afternoon (2pm), with Robertson and Szoboszlai back in action on June 19 as Hungary meet Germany (5pm in Stuttgart) and Scotland v Switzerland (8pm in Cologne).

Group A then concludes on June 23, with the Liverpool team-mates going head-to-head in an 8pm kick-off between Scotland and Hungary in Stuttgart.

Fellow Red Ben Doak was named in Scotland’s provisional squad for the Euros but was ruled out of the tournament last week through injury.

Group C: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez

England’s final squad for the tournament includes Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomezwith Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah among the seven players released from Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man party.

The Three Lions’ Group C campaign begins against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on June 16 (20:00) and the second match sees Denmark on June 20 (17:00 in Frankfurt).

England’s group stage concludes on June 25 when they face Slovenia in Cologne (8pm).

Group D: Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate

Four Liverpool players are involved in Group D, with three of them – Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch and captain Virgil van Dijk – members of the Netherlands team.

OranjeHis first assignment is a clash with Poland in Hamburg on June 16 (2pm), before the Reds trio meet team-mate Ibrahima Konate and France on June 21 (8pm in Leipzig).

The Netherlands’ final match in the section is against Austria in Berlin on June 25 (5pm).

France, meanwhile, kick off the Euros against Austria (20:00 on June 17 in Dusseldorf) and conclude Group D by facing Poland on June 25 (5:00 p.m. in Dortmund).

Group F – Vitezslav Jaros and Diogo Jota

Group F starts on June 18 and two reds will meet when Vitezslav Jaros and the Czech girl Diogo JotaPortugal, in an 20:00 start in Leipzig.

Next up for Portugal is a clash with Turkiye in Dortmund on June 22 (5pm) and the Czech Republic v Georgia kicks off at 2pm in Hamburg on the same day.

And four days later, on June 26, Jota and co finish the group stage against Georgia in Gelsenkirchen (20:00), while Jaros’ Czech Republic take on Turkiye in Hamburg (also 20:00).
