Six people taken to hospital after house fire in Ealing – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

Three adults and three children were taken to hospital after suffering smoke inhalation following a house fire on Elderberry Road in Ealing on Tuesday (June 11, 2024) evening.

The fire saw the first floor of the two-storey house completely gutted by fire, with the ground floor partially damaged.

According to the London Fire Brigade, the fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by sunlight reflecting off a glass object in a room.

The brigade was called at 19:01 and the fire was under control by 20:25. Four fire engines and 25 firefighters from Chiswick, Heston, Park Royal and Hammersmith fire stations attended the scene.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: “Fires like this are not as rare as you might think. They can happen all year round, but as we head into summer and the sun gets stronger, it’s very important that reflective objects such as mirrors, crystals and glass ornaments are kept out of direct sunlight.”
