Bradford County Bridge Gets New Width Restriction

COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WETM) — A bridge in Columbia Township has a new width restriction.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the bridge that carries Watkins Hill Road (Route 4010) over Sugar Creek now has a 20-foot width restriction. This bridge, which is located half a mile west of Columbia Crossroads, previously had a 24-foot width restriction.

Overnight roadworks are set to begin in Bradford County

PennDOT says the new restriction was put in place based on a recent routine inspection that found the damage.

Drivers can check Pennsylvania road conditions by visiting 511PA.com. Restricted bridges can be viewed on the 511PA map, however details of the restrictions are not always posted.
