Local Offer Live presents support for children and young people with SEND

Local offer Live 2024

Together with the independent charity, PCAN (Parents of Children with Additional Needs), we are hosting Local Offer Live, a free event.

It’s an opportunity to find out about local services that support families of children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND, as well as a chance to meet other families to share experiences and support.

You’ll find over 60 organizations at the event with a range of information on topics such as inclusive activities, children’s therapy, mental health support and more.

As well as the chance to talk to experts, families are invited to watch a series of video workshops throughout the day on topics such as Early Years, school support and sustained employment, and can spend time with other local families.

When and where

‘Local Offer Live’ is on Tuesday 9th July between 10am and 6pm at the John Smith’s Stadium, Stadium Way, Huddersfield, HD1 6PG.

Interpreter support will be available at the event. There is free accessible parking on site as well as food vendors nearby.

“It’s a pleasure to work closely with PCAN, our local parent and carer organisation, to bring Local Offer Live back to Kirklees for another year. This friendly and informal event has always been popular with families as it brings together information and experts in one convenient place. It provides an opportunity to learn more about the support available locally and to ask questions. But importantly, it’s a chance to meet other local families in similar circumstances and share experiences and support each other.

“We want children to have the best start in life, which is why we are continually committed to delivering excellent outcomes for those with additional needs. Furthermore, by helping families to become aware of and access all the support available, we can help ensure that children and young people with SEND fulfill their potential as they grow up to lead happy and healthy lives.”
