Super League referee appointments: Kendall has been given a week off

The teams that officiate the 14th round of the Super League season have been confirmed.

Each team is back in action this week, playing six games, all live on television.

Castleford will be hoping to make the most of their rest on Friday night as they take on new Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors at Wheldon Road.

Ben Thaler, back from a break, is really in the swing of things now, refereeing this one, while Chris Kendall appears as the video referee; he is not the referee for any of this week’s games, however, which the RFL explained.

Elsewhere, a packed Craven Park will be entertained by Hull KR and Huddersfield Giants as the Robins look to take advantage of an out-of-form Giants side who have just one win in their last seven games.

Tom Grant is the referee here, while Liam Moore is the video referee.

The other fixture on Friday night promises to be an interesting one as Warrington Wolves, off the back of a Wembley defeat, welcome Paul Rowley’s Salford Red Devils.

Aaron Moore is in the middle, while James Vella returns as video referee.

Leeds Rhinos will certainly be hoping for two points against a struggling Hull FC side on Saturday, even at the MKM Stadium, as the Black and Whites have been beaten by every team they have faced this season.

Liam Moore is the referee here, while his brother Aaron, consulting the replays, does a complete Moore deal.

Later, around 1,500 Leigh Leopards fans (a number that could have been more) will see their resurgent side take on Catalans Dragons, currently fifth in the table, in Perpignan.

Jack Smith makes the trip to Catalonia alongside video referee Liam Rush.

Finally, on Sunday, London Broncos host St Helens at the Twickenham Stoop, which sees Super League rugby on its ground for the first time in over a decade.

James Vella is the referee, while the video referee is Tom Grant.

Here are the full Super League referee appointments.
