Leeds £4m player’s agent has meeting with Euro club and is now expected to leave soon

The agent of a player still on Leeds United’s books has just held a meeting with a major European club and now the defender is expected to leave in the “coming weeks”.

Of the eight players who used Victor Orta’s loan relegation clause last summer, the futures of three have been decided. Robin Koch’s contract expires in June and he has joined Frankfurt on a permanent deal.

Luis Sinisterra was loaned to Bournemouth and the Colombia star has since joined The Cherries beyond his loan spell in a £20m deal. Brenden Aaronson, meanwhile, will be in the Leeds squad next term.

The future of Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Max Wober and Jack Harrison remains up in the air with nothing confirmed. However, Betis president Angel Haro says a deal to sign Roca is close.

Jack Harrison can return to Everton on loan and it is expected to happen. Now an update on Spain defender Llorente, who has spent the last 18 months at Serie A giants Roma, playing over 50 times.

£4million agent Diego Llorente holds meeting ahead of Roma move

The situation surrounding Llorente is that there is a gentleman’s agreement between Leeds, Roma and Llorente to do a deal this summer. The defender has a £4.3m permanent release clause in his loan deal with Roma.

It was reported last week that Roma’s new sporting director met with his club’s hierarchy to discuss a move for Llorente. New manager Daniele De Rossi is keen to secure Llorente next season.

Quotidiano Sport say that sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has met with Llorente’s agent Fali Ramadani to discuss Llorente and, although the £4.3m release clause has not been activated, ‘white smoke’ is likely to appear in the ‘ the coming weeks”.

Losing Leeds was expected, but they deserve to finally sell Llorente

Leeds spent £18m on Llorente and the Spaniard made 59 appearances for the Whites, costing the Yorkshire club around £6m every 20 games. Now Leeds are set to make a huge loss.

That’s even if Leeds cash in on Llorente this summer. Roma might sign Llorente on loan for a third time with an obligation to buy him next time, but surely at that fee Roma will do business.
