Willmott Dixon Interiors to redevelop London’s Brent Civic Centre

Willmott Dixon Interiors has been selected to undertake refurbishment works at the Brent Civic Centre, located in Wembley Park, London, UK.

The project, awarded through the Procurement Hub, aims to improve 22,600 sq ft of space, comprising the site’s library, ground floor customer services and mezzanine.

Andy Peck, Senior Client Relationship Manager at Procurement Hub, said: “This is another project which is a great example of how working with Willmott Dixon Interiors through the Major Projects Framework is delivering great benefits for the public sector.”

The fit-out specialist’s in-house designers have developed a reconfigured interior layout to meet the centre’s evolving space requirements.

The refurbishment will make the centre, which opened in 2013, more accessible for wheelchair users, pushchairs and people with complex needs.

In addition, the project will introduce a new main entrance and welcome desk, as well as a reimagined mezzanine with a flexible, multi-purpose library with increased study spaces.

A new entrance on Exhibition Way, adjacent to the Sainsbury’s supermarket, and a refurbished customer waiting area are also part of the planned improvements.

The ground floor will include a dedicated customer area where visitors can interact with various Hubs and Customer Service staff.

This area will include additional meeting rooms.

Willmott Dixon Interiors Senior Operations Manager Neil Adams said: “Brent Council recognizes the importance of meeting the changing needs of those who use its facilities. The Civic Center is an important community resource and this project was intentionally designed to ensure it continues to provide a positive experience for everyone.

“We will repurpose the space to provide better access to the public, with open spaces that are not only more welcoming, but also easier to find and navigate.”

The refurbishment of Brent Civic Center is the result of a comprehensive review of how visitors and residents use the centre’s services.

The review included consultations with more than 500 residents, staff focus groups and surveys.

This comes after Willmott Dixon Interiors announced a £4.4 million ($5.59 million) renovation project for historic buildings in England’s London Borough of Sutton.

“Willmott Dixon Interiors to renovate London’s Brent Civic Center” was originally created and published by World Construction Network, a brand owned by GlobalData.
