Jeremie Frimpong has already dropped the Liverpool hint as uncertainty over his future grows

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has already hinted at a potential move to Liverpool amid speculation over his future.

Frimpong scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen in the 2023/24 season. Helped them win the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history after impressing on the right side of the back four.




For now, his focus is firmly on Euro 2024 with the Netherlands, but there is still uncertainty over his future with Manchester United and Liverpool among those interested in his services. SportBILD claim the Reds are still an admirer of Frimpong, who is valued at around £42million.

Frimpong joined Manchester City aged nine before moving to Celtic in September 2019. Later that month, he made his professional debut against Partick Thistle. He went on to win the Treble with the Hoops in his first season, making 21 appearances and scoring one goal.

He was a regular in the team next season before moving to Leverkusen in January 2021. He played 142 times for Leverkusen but could return to the Premier League this summer. Frimpong was asked about a potential move to the Reds in February when Alonso was linked with Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he said: “Liverpool is a great club with history. It would be great. Who knows what the future will bring.”
