“I’m an EastEnders super fan and I’m engaged to Shirley Carter’s ‘twin’ – we’re both pregnant”

An EastEnders megafan who is engaged to Shirley Carter’s ‘twin’ has made another huge announcement after it went viral. Anna Simpson has always had a crush on Albert Square icon Shirley, played by Linda Henry, so she hit the jackpot when she met her match.

The 31-year-old from Nottinghamshire bumped into Kerry Simpson, 38, on the school run at the start of 2018, The Daily Star reports. Coincidentally, Kerry also has the same last name as Anna, and also bears an uncanny resemblance to the fictional BBC TV character.

Mesmerized by Kerry and a blonde cut in the style of EastEnders’ Shirley Carter, Anna quickly hit it off and the pair got engaged months later, bringing their families together. But the couple have now said their quadruplets will get a few extra additions as they plan to get pregnant with the same sperm surrogate at the same time.

Speaking to their 816,000 TikTok followers, Kerry – who is sporting a new look – and Anna said: ‘We can’t believe our baby journey is finally happening. Our baby journey begins now, we have found an amazing donor. It’s so hard to try. to find nice people in the world these days, but I found one and he is absolutely amazing.

“We’re going to start insemination at home tomorrow, so we’ll keep you all posted on that. And how it will work is that we will both try and hope it “happens” for both of us, and if it doesn’t it won’t. that’s fine, we’ll be happy if either one of us gets pregnant and has the baby.”

Kerry chimed in and said, “We’re both going to be their moms.” However, the plan is for both Kerry and Anna to get pregnant from the same sperm donor so they can both get pregnant at the same time. This means they’ll need to make sure their menstrual cycles are in sync to have the best bet of fulfilling their dreams.

Anna continued, “We’d love it if it worked for us at the same time, wouldn’t you? This is new for us, we’ve never done this before, but yeah, it’s going to be fun. I will be a child soon.”

Kerry explained that the couple took ovulation tests and are sharing their story in hopes that others can relate, or to simply educate people about their non-traditional pregnancy journey. She admitted to being “nervous” and then crossed her fingers. However, it seems Kerry may have had her fingers crossed as the planned ‘donation’ day was very quickly put on hold.

The couple gets a set back

On Tuesday (June 4), the donor had to cancel the day of the double insemination attempt because he had a “family emergency”. While the couple didn’t want to share too much about what happened, they assured fans that they will let their thousands of fans know when they “do.”

They hope that the donor can manage soon before they start menstruating, otherwise they will have to wait until their next cycle. Shirley Carter may not have been the obvious brat in EastEnders, but she certainly brought Anna and Kerry closer.

Speaking previously to the Daily Star, Anna said: ‘We love Shirley. She’s feisty and doesn’t care what people think… but I don’t like her. It was more of a sketch because so many people call Kerry “Shirley”. Carter as well as “the long one”, the thing that attracted me to Kerry is that I thought she was beautiful and her tattoos, but even as Shirley Carter she still looks fit. But when I met her, her personality was also amazing.”

She added: “We’ve both watched EastEnders since we were kids and we still do now… Shirley is back!”
