Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy is engaged to girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel, his mother Denise Welch confirmed on Loose Women today. The 1975 frontman has been in a relationship with the model since last year.

The singer dated Swift for about a month in the spring of 2023. But now he’s made it official with Bechtel after nine months of dating.

As part of her latest Instagram story, Bechtel flaunted a huge black diamond ring on her left hand. While attending a Charlie XCX concert in Brooklyn, the model uploaded a series of pictures and videos. Charlie XCX is rumored to be dating the 1975 drummer.

In one photo, Bechtel shows the ring on her left hand, alongside the words: “Marrying 1975 is really crazy.” She also tags Healy in her post under his username, Trumanblack.

In her latest upload, she shares a selfie of herself holding up her finger with the ring on it while looking into a mirror. While Healy has yet to address the engagement news himself, he did retweet Bechtel’s story.

Sharing the news on ITV’s Loose Women, Denise told viewers: ‘I’ve known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. They went to see their friends Charli and George in New York.”

She added: “Woke up this morning to them putting it on Instagram. Official Instagram… She’s from Los Angeles, she’s absolutely gorgeous.”

Last spring, Swift and Healy dated for about a month in a romance. Since then, Swift has moved on with NFL player and Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Travis Kelce and the pair continues to go from strength to strength after hooking up in September.

Healy also reportedly moved on with Bechtel in September 2023. The musician and model shared a kiss in New York City on what appeared to be a date.

Healy reportedly called off her brief relationship with Swift in June 2023. Swift released her latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April.

Fans wasted no time in guessing that certain songs hinted at the untold story of what happened between the former couple. Songs like “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “But Daddy I Love Him” ​​are considered by many Swifties to be about Healy.
