Home Bargains faces backlash as shoppers say ‘it’s ridiculous’

Shoppers have expressed their displeasure with Home Bargains’ latest Instagram post. The image shows an aisle filled with a vibrant and festive array of Christmas decorations.

Captioning the image, the store said: ‘Since summer isn’t happening this year. Can we start getting excited for Christmas?”

It didn’t take long for dozens of disinterested responses to come in, reminding Home Bargains just how far away December still is. Jayne retorted, “I can’t think of anything worse!”

Similarly, Annabelle said: “Ridiculous, put it all away until November.” Other comments came from Adele, who said: “Absolutely ridiculous.”

And Kim asks: “Are you kidding me,” reports Wales Online. Denise wondered in disbelief, “Surely this can’t be real!? No!? No way!”

Brad pointed out the technical aspects of seasonal periods by declaring: “Thursday June 20, 2024 Sunday, September 22, 2024 is summer… Gerra flu!” The sentiment was echoed by others, such as Temptress, who responded: “This can’t be real???? It’s so ridiculous.”

Jones suggested, “Give summer a chance, technically summer has just started.” However, it wasn’t all negativity as many revealed their festive anticipation.

One giddy shopper said: “Omg yes yes I can’t wait to see this aisle.” Another enthusiast added: “Yes, yes, yes, I’m bringing it.”

Megan, expressing her excitement simply, said: “It’s always a time to get excited about Christmas.” Counting down the days, another added: “Absolutely yes!! There are only 197 bedrooms after all.”

Elsewhere, some were more intent on focusing on current festive events before moving on to Christmas. Lea commented, “Can we please do Fall/Halloween first.”

AJ asked, “I have a question right now!!!! Where is our Halloween stuff!!!!” Rose expressed her amazement, “Awesome, can we have Halloween first?”

Still, a few managed to see the humor in it all. Annock remarked, “Think that people had bypasses of their sense of humor.” Karla joked: “So many don’t get it, it’s a joke.”
