Coventry woman wins $40,000 with lottery ticket she bought in West Warwick

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry woman recently won $40,000 with a scratch-off ticket, a Rhode Island Lottery spokesman said Wednesday.

Lottery officials said the woman hit big when she played the “Rhode Island Super Loteria” instant game. She purchased the winning ticket at Cumberland Farms at 295 Legris Ave. in West Warwick.

The woman told lottery officials she was buying scratch-off tickets for fun and planned to use the winnings to pay off her debt.
