Body found in search for missing Devon man

Police have found a body while searching for a missing Tavistock man. Although an official identification has not yet taken place, Devon and Cornwall Police say the family of Leslie Cribbett, who went missing on June 11, have been informed of the update.

An appeal was issued to find Leslie, 93, earlier today (June 12). Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the Tavistock area today.




His death is not being treated as suspicious, the force said, and a file is being prepared for the coroner. Formal identification will take place in due course.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Today, Wednesday 12 June, the body of a man was found in the Tavistock area. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“An official identification is to take place. The family of Leslie Cribbett, 93, from Tavistock, who was reported missing on Tuesday, June 11, have been informed.”
