Woman seriously injured in Coventry car crash

A woman has been seriously injured following a car and van crash in Coventry. It happened on Willenhall Lane earlier today (Friday, May 10).

Paramedics were called to the scene at around 6.15am. Crews found a man and a woman, who were the drivers of the car and van, had been involved in a collision, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.




Medics found the woman, who was the driver of the car, had suffered serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. She received treatment at the scene before being taken to Coventry University Hospital in Walsgrave.

A man, who was the driver of the truck, was evaluated and found to be uninjured. He received personal care advice at the scene before being discharged.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 6.14am to an RTC involving a car and a van on Willenhall Lane in Coventry. Crews found two patients, a man and a woman, who were the drivers of the car and van.

“Crews assessed the driver of the car who suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries. She received treatment at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Coventry.
