Royal Enfield Himalayan captured on Dash-Cam » MotorOctane

The Royal Enfield Himalayan has generated quite a buzz on the internet. From early renders, to spy shots of early test drives to this newly surfaced dashcam video (filmed on the highways of Puzhal, Tamil Nadu), one thing is clear – this Royal Enfield is amazing. Purists may have been shocked and left shaking their heads, but as the video shows, the RE Himalayan promises to be a capable mile-eater. Clean pull-off at highway speeds indicates that this bike definitely has some mid-range; perfect for getting past them without too much fuss.

The front has parts from the Continental GT, while the chassis is completely new. The high stance, that minimalistic body, the provision for solid/soft-storage mounting and the indicated performance have certainly whetted everyone’s appetite. It’s what we feel just the exhaust that doesn’t seem to gel with the overall design.

Expected to launch later this year (or early next), price and build quality will play a key role in the RE Himalayan living up to its name.
