What are the best and worst things about taking the tram from Wolverhampton to Birmingham? – answered our readers

Let’s be honest – there will always be problems with our buses, trains and trams, but overall we have access to easy and convenient public transport across the region.

The West Midlands Metro has proven to be a success, with packed rush hour trams running from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston Village, Birmingham Coach Station, Brierly Hill and beyond.

Now, Metro passengers have responded to the Express & Star’s Facebook post to discuss; What are the best and worst things about taking the tram?

It was a mixed bag of responses.

Charleen Haynes said she enjoyed seeing the area from a different perspective: “I only traveled it once when it first started. Never. Noise and smell! It was best to see the area from a different angle, but not worth a round trip. “

Samantha Hodson likes the staff and safety: “I use the tram regularly. Yes, there are issues, but overall it’s a great service. I can leave my home in Wednesbury and be in my office in 40 minutes. The last time I used a bus that trip took more than an hour. There is no traffic (on that stretch) the staff are good, it always feels safe.”

Sandra Marie Matthews said: “The best thing is that it doesn’t take long and the trams are clean. The worst thing is that sometimes you get drunk on people who argue with them.”

Michael Rogers said: “I used to use it when it started but it kept breaking down. Okay – different views; bad – unreliable and like a tube during rush hour’.
