Birmingham New Street track offenders stop trains in and out of the station

Trains to and from Birmingham New Street were temporarily stopped due to offenders on the tracks. Commuters fumed when caught up in rush-hour delays.

West Midlands Railway said it happened between New Street and international services. Passengers reported that the offenders were removed by British Transport Police.

Taking to X, ex Twitter, West Midlands Railway posted: “#WMRNEW – Trespassers between Birmingham New St and International Services running through the area may be delayed, canceled or altered.

He later posted: “#WMRCLEARED – Line reopened between New St and International. Services will continue to be delayed while we resume normal service.” One rail user was furious: “All trains have been stopped in and out of New Street because of the criminals. They have been blocked for centuries.”
