Coventry mum has released a video of the crash she wants people to see after she ‘kidnapped’ through the windscreen

A Coventry mum ‘bulls-eyed’ through a car windscreen as she claims a driver ‘failed to stop at a junction’. Sara Phipps shared footage of the horrifying moment.

As part of the Ironman, she had completed a 30-mile bike ride and was on her way home when she claims an Audi pulled out at the junction, Wales Online reported. This horrifying moment shows the 48-year-old flying into the wing of the silver car, hitting the windscreen and flipping onto the roof before being thrown to the ground.

It left the accounts assistant to be taken to Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital on “blue lights”, where doctors treated him for a catalog of injuries including a broken right shoulder, broken right femur and bruises and cuts to his hands.

Now, three years after the incident, the mother-of-two has shared the footage in a bid to encourage other cyclists to wear a helmet.

She said: “I look at the clip back, it doesn’t look like me. We were walking at a slow pace when we reached a crossroads. I had the right of way downhill and he should have yielded.

“It was a clear sunny day and she didn’t (give in), she just kept going. I turned the handlebars of the bike, tried to react, but that meant my right thigh took the brunt of the impact.
