The Gussapolooza Music and Arts Festival is excited to announce a unique opportunity for local artists to showcase their work and network with industry professionals at this year’s event, which runs September 13-15 in Georgian Bay Cookstown Steam Show Grounds.

Introducing the ‘Gussapolooza Art Zone’, an outdoor and online art fair held within the festival that celebrates creativity, community and artistic diversity. This vibrant platform offers artists the chance to exhibit their art in a lively, outdoor setting.

“We are excited to create opportunities and showcase local talent across the artistic spectrum. This year we dedicated an entire section of the festival to visual artists to showcase their art, meet industry professionals and make lasting connections. We couldn’t be more excited to see who shows up!” said lead organizer Valerie Robson.

Organized by passionate local curator and art advisor Liza Zhurkovskaya, Art Zone aims to support diverse voices and provide creative opportunities beyond traditional gallery spaces.

Zhurkovskaya’s expertise will transform the Art Zone into a dynamic platform where local artists can let their talent and creativity shine.

Whether you are an art enthusiast or just starting to explore the world of art, the Gussapolooza Art Zone guarantees an inspiring and unforgettable experience. Come celebrate the creativity that thrives in our community and support the artists who make it all possible.

The Gussapolooza Art Zone is open to all artists, welcoming a diverse range of artistic expressions including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, ceramics, jewelry and digital art.

Without a specific theme, artists are encouraged to submit pieces that reflect their personal style and vision. Each artist can submit up to three pieces, with the submission deadline set for Saturday, June 23rd at 11:59pm EST.

A panel of esteemed judges from the art community will review all entries for originality, artistic merit and suitability for outdoor display. Accepted artists will be notified by Friday, June 28.

Participating in the Gussapolooza Art Zone offers numerous benefits to selected artists.

Each artist will be given a designated exhibition space to display their work, providing a unique platform to interact with other artists, art enthusiasts and potential buyers. Artists will gain valuable publicity through features on the festival website, social media platforms and promotional materials.

In addition, all exhibited artwork may be made available for sale, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the artists.
