Aldi cuts the ribbon on its 10th store in Bristol

Aldi opened its 10th store in Bristol today (June 13) at the new retail park on Fox Den Road in Stoke Gifford. It comes just over a month after carmaker Costa opened on the same site.

The supermarket giant, which is now the UK’s fourth largest supermarket with more than 1,020 stores across the country, has been on a “rapid expansion” in recent years and is working towards a long-term goal of opening more of 1,500 stores throughout the country. UK. This latest store opening will be led by store manager AJ Currey and boasts a team of 35 staff from the local community.




Opening at 8am, GB Paralympic gold medalist Stephanie Millward cut the ribbon alongside pupils from St Michael’s CofE Primary School. The Paralympian gave free bags of fresh fruit and veg from Aldi’s Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue before delivering a set for pupils as part of the supermarket’s Get Set to Eat Fresh initiative.

Regional managing director Dan Oakenfull said: “The opening of our 10th store in Bristol means we’re another step forward in making Aldi available to as many shoppers as possible. This means even more people in Bristol have easy access to the highest quality food at the lowest prices, every day.”

The new store has large chillers and freezers dedicated to fresh British meat products, as well as a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front and a health and beauty section. This is in addition to the ‘Aisle of Aldi’ full of Specialbuys every Thursday and Sunday and during the opening week the store will offer a range of pet essentials including memory foam pet mattresses, beds plush and hooded trays.

The new retail park on Fox Den Road will also include a Beefeater and Premier Inn.
