Leeds United’s new partnership with Red Bull could open the doors for “synergy” between the other clubs under their management, while Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp could be set to become their global football boss.

While there is very little change in playing personnel at this point this summer for Leeds and Daniel Farke, the 49ers have been incredibly busy since their playoff final loss.

The most notable news to come from the club was the confirmed minority investment from Red Bull, making Leeds the third club in Europe to partner with the energy drink brand, albeit with a significantly smaller role on the books at Elland Road .

Jurgen Klopp has reported for the role of head of global football at Red Bull

It was reported this week that after leaving Liverpool as a club legend, manager Jurgen Klopp could be set to join Red Bull in a senior football role.

Salzburger Nachrichten have reported claims that Klopp will be lined up by Red Bull for their role as world football boss this summer.

The role has been vacant since Oliver Mintzlaff stepped down and Klopp could be offered the job according to this report.

Meanwhile, technical director Mario Gomez is in talks to agree a new contract with the company.

Are you happy that Red Bull have invested in Leeds?

What does this mean for Leeds United’s new Red Bull sponsorship?

An intriguing line from the report above notes Leeds’ involvement in this potential Klopp deal, where they share that the German could help create connections between Red Bull’s affiliated clubs on different continents:

“Klopp would be predestined for this task. The former Champions League winner (with Liverpool 2019) and two-time Fifa World Coach of the Year (2019, 2020) represents a clear game idea, he could create synergies between the locations of Leipzig, Salzburg, New York, RB Bragantino and recently also , Leeds and, last but not least, to allow transfers only by his ringing name.”

Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe has already broached the possibility of this Red Bull partnership acting as fresh ‘eyes and ears’ for the club, be it in terms of transfers or other operations.

The Red Bull links could be great for Leeds on the pitch

It is very clear from the successes of Leipzig and Salzburg with those clubs that the Red Bull framework can work very well.

For Leeds, that could mean access to scouting networks or recruitment models, or it could just mean a simple investment in the club for now.

However, if Klopp were to take on a major role at Red Bull, it would be interesting to see how that plays out with our new connection.
