Shocking footage captures knife fight between teenagers in Enfield

Shocking footage has captured the moment a knife fight broke out between a large group of teenagers on a public footpath in Enfield, with one person stabbed.

Four teenagers were arrested after the fight, which involved a dozen youths dressed in black, broke out just before 4pm on Friday on Bullsmoor Lane, in front of an alleyway between a Burger King and a fast food restaurant McDonald’s.

Two of the individuals appeared to lunge at each other with large knives, images posted on X, formerly Twitter, showed, while others watched on.

The Metropolitan Police said two people were reported to be in possession of the knives. A teenager was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Police attended the scene and four teenagers were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and grievous bodily harm.

Two teenagers were charged and remanded in custody. Two others have been released on police bail. Research is ongoing.

Knife crime in London has risen by 16 per cent in just one year, the Standard reported in July.

The Office for National Statistics announced that 12,786 knife crimes were committed in the capital in the 12 months to the end of March this year. The total compares with a figure of 11,031 for the comparable period a year earlier and represents an increase of 16 percent.

The main reason for the increase was an increase in knifepoint robberies, which rose by almost a third.

In his latest bid to reassure Londoners, Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced that all secondary schools will be given the chance to be given knife-edge metal detectors following the killing of 15-year-old Elianne Andam , in Croydon.

She was fatally stabbed as she walked to school near the borough’s Whitgift shopping centre. A 17-year-old boy was charged with her murder.
