Arne Slot gives an update on when he will be announced as Liverpool manager

Arne Slot has given a further update on when he could be officially named as Liverpool manager, admitting it is likely to go into his “final week” with Feyenoord.

Jurgen Klopp is set to leave the Reds this summer and Liverpool have already reached an agreement with the Eredivisie club for Slot to succeed the German at Anfield. However, his appointment has not yet been officially confirmed.




The Dutchman has previously insisted his appointment will be completed sooner rather than later and has not been confirmed in the protracted process

Both Liverpool and Feyenoord’s campaigns end on May 19, with the Dutch club’s position in second place in the Eredivisie already confirmed. Meanwhile, the Reds have qualified for next season’s Champions League and secured a top-three finish, although mathematically they still remain in contention for the Premier League title.

Speaking ahead of his penultimate game as Feyenoord manager, Slot revealed he expects his move to Liverpool to be announced within days.

“I say almost every time: It’s only going to be a matter of days,” he said. “That’s what I expect now.
