Manchester drug dealer caught with £237,000 and sports cars impounded

A drug dealer caught with more than £237,000 in cash and a bundle of cannabis stuffed into boxes in two flats in Manchester has been jailed.

Angus McBeath, 42, was also found to have a £77,000 Audi RS4 sports car and a Range Rover which he had paid for in cash.

A parking ticket in the Range Rover led police to one of the apartments where they found the Audi and more than 10 kg (22 lbs) of cannabis.

McBeath was jailed for three years and nine months after admitting possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply at a hearing at Manchester Crown Court.

He was also given a sentence of three years and nine months for possession of criminal property, to run concurrently.

The court heard that on the morning of March 8, 2023, police searched McBeath’s flat in South Tower on Owen Street in Manchester,

They found a parking ticket that led them to another house at nearby Hacienda Apartments, where they found cannabis and the Audi.

Officers also found two machines used to seal packages and thousands of small, empty packets of cannabis.

Connor Turner, 24, from Crewe, was given a suspended sentence for possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

Turner was found not guilty of possession of criminal property.

Det Con Paul Elkin, of Greater Manchester Police, said the sentence was “one step closer to stopping the operations of these people and gangs who think it’s okay to sell drugs on the streets of Manchester”.

He urged anyone with concerns about potential drug dealing happening in their community to contact the police or Crimestoppers.
