Leeds Media Center is celebrating the opening of a new business hub – NewStartMag

The Chapeltown-based organization will host a series of enterprise-themed events next week to mark the occasion and encourage young people looking to enter the industry.

Research published in SME Magazine shows that six in 10 young adults plan to be their own boss by the age of 30, suggesting the launch of a new business hub in Leeds could not have come at a better time.

To celebrate the grand opening of the hub on Monday the 13thth The May launch of Steps to Business kicks off a week of themed events for businesses. The scheme is a start-up training program for aspiring entrepreneurs aged 16-25 who will be connected with access to investors and business advisers.

Wednesday the 15ththThe Business Takeover Day will take place – an informal event providing a one-stop shop for all business support needs from industry experts in West Yorkshire.

Commenting on the news, Adrian Green, Unity Enterprise Manager, said: “We are delighted to be hosting such an impressive range of activities over five days, each with a focus on entrepreneurship.

“Steps to Business will use unconventional training methods to help participants achieve their dreams. Monday’s launch event is free to attend and we’re expecting plenty of footfall from noon until 4pm, when it concludes.

“We are also very grateful to AD:VENTURE for organizing Enterprise Day on Wednesday, which again is free entry for all.”

Leeds Media Center is one of three business groups operated by Unity Enterprise, the not-for-profit subsidiary of BME housing association Unity Homes and Enterprise, and has recently undergone a £1.8m refurbishment in partnership with the City Council from Leeds and European Regional.
