Marks and Spencer are selling a ‘stunning’ backless maxi dress, perfect for European destinations

Marks and Spencer is hoping shoppers will love a slip dress from its new collection in collaboration with Sienna Miller and look great abroad this summer.

Taking to its Instagram page, Marks and Spencer shared a reel of just one of the stunning pieces. The video shows one of its models wearing the stunning dress in an even more beautiful European destination. The caption on the post reads: “When all eyes are on this M&S x Sienna Miller tie dress instead of the view.”

In the comments section, one person said: “So stylish, especially the lower back.”

The dress in question is the M&S x Sienna Miller Back Detail Ombre Slip Dress in a blue mix, but it also comes in an orange mix. At £65, the dress is on the pricey side, but will look amazing in Europe this summer with its open back design and ankle length style.

On the Marks and Spencer website, the product listing states: “Incorporating art and design, as well as referencing the washed-out colors of India’s pink city, Jaipur, and the streets of Morocco, were key components in Sienna’s vision for curating this collection . This is clearly seen with the ombre slip dress, inspired by the colors of one of Sienna’s favorite artists, Mark Rothko.”

“With a tight, flowy fit and dyed to give a washed-out, slightly worn look, Sienna designed this as an effortless nightgown for those long summer nights or tossed over a bikini for an effortless at the beach at the bar.”

With the collection still relatively new, the dress hasn’t received many reviews yet, but the few that do exist offer some constructive criticism. One said: “The material is lovely and heavy. Not sure what it’s made of, maybe a silk blend? The only downside was that the back was so low. Having a large chest meant a bra would show up and I couldn’t go without it!”

And a second wrote: “The fabric is nice, the sizing is ok, but there is a weird gathered area in the side seam. I don’t know if this is to give extra fabric around the lower abdomen, but it just looks weird. Also, the blue is medium to dark, not pale blue at the top. I returned.”

If you’re looking for a nice summer dress but don’t want to spend that much, River Island has some nice options that are a little less expensive. One that will look amazing at a variety of events this summer is the chain’s yellow floral slip neck maxi dress. Costing £60, the dress offers the wearer a beautiful low-back design that is perfectly summer-ready.
