Have your say in Cornwall Live’s General Election poll

Which political party should be in power here in the UK? That’s the question on everyone’s mind as the country prepares for the July 4 general election.

Over the past five years, the British people have seen huge changes in society at home and globally.

The European Union no longer counts the UK among its member states, the Covid-19 pandemic has ravaged the country and Putin has ordered Russian troops across the border into Ukraine to start a war that is ongoing as we head to the polls.

The cost of living has become unbearable for many Britons, exploding the use of food banks. Protests in major cities in every corner of the globe have sprung up against the conflict in the Middle East. NHS waiting times are at crisis levels and small boats have continued their journeys across the Channel from France.

Locally, Rishi Sunak has promised to tackle low wages and sewage spills in Cornwall if the Conservative Party wins the election.

We want to hear from CornwallLive readers about the important issues you will be considering when you vote in July. We also want you to share with us how the last few years since Covid have affected your cost of living and how this will affect your vote.
