Sheffield Wednesday ‘considering’ summer move for PL striker Danny Rohl likes

Sheffield Wednesday have a Premier League striker in their sights, it has been reported.

The summer transfer window is now officially open, with Sheffield Wednesday having until August 30 to finalize their summer transfer plans.

Danny Rohl is already reportedly close to signing three new players after it was revealed that Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a fee for Yan Valery.

Free agents Ben Hamer and Max Lowe are also tipped to move to Hillsborough this summer, providing a positive start to the post-season for Sheffield Wednesday.

There are also plenty of other names on the Owls’ radar, with recent reports revealing that Sheffield Wednesday remain in contact with Ovie Ejaria, who is a free agent following his release from Reading in December 2023.

Rohl is also keen to see loan trio James Beadle, Ian Poveda and Ike Ugbo return to the club this summer; Poveda is set to become a free agent when his contract with Leeds United expires this summer.

And now another name Rohl wanted in January but didn’t ultimately sign has been added back to the Owls’ transfer wish list.

Sheffield Wednesday are eyeing the transfer of Myles Peart-Harris

Sheffield Wednesday were linked with Brentford striker Myles Peart-Harris during the January transfer window.

The former Chelsea youngster, 21, eventually signed for Portsmouth, scoring twice in 12 League One outings as Pompey won the title.

Journalist Joe Crann revealed to X that Sheffield Wednesday have “rekindled their interest” in the attacking midfielder.

Crann adds that Rohl and Wednesday “consider him an attacking possibility for 2024/25”, with Brentford’s future somewhat up in the air.

He is under contract at Brentford until 2025, but the Bees and manager Thomas Frank have the option of a one-year extension.

It is unclear whether or not Sheffield Wednesday would prefer a loan or a permanent deal for the Englishman.

One reason why Sheffield Wednesday should sign Myles Peart-Harris

Peart-Harris is showing some exciting talent and after several loan spells away from Brentford, with his future at the Premier League club looking in doubt, he may want to move away from the club for good.

At 21, he will certainly be eager to really get his career going. Being so young as well, whoever signs him could boast a very valuable asset in a few years.

It’s something that Sheffield Wednesday really don’t have a lot of and haven’t had for a while.

The Owls need to get used to buying young players, giving them first-team exposure and looking to increase their transfer value.

Peart-Harris, despite spending some time on the sidelines, showed his qualities with Portsmouth last season, scoring twice as he predominantly played on the left side of midfield.

He showed his attacking prowess with 1.5 shots per game and an average of 12.8 assists in the opposition half, despite playing mostly as a substitute (Sofascore).

He also showed his defensive work rate with 1.1 tackles-per-game and 3.4 rebounds-per-game, so Rohl knows Peart-Harris can compliment the intense, hard-working style of play of at Sheffield Wednesday.

It may not be cheap, but Peart-Harris could be a very smart investment for Sheffield Wednesday.
