A 79-year-old pensioner has died after an incident involving a lorry

A pedestrian who died following a collision with a lorry has been named by police. Robert Kirk, 79, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash in Main Street, Callander, on Thursday.

The police are appealing for information about the incident which took place around 11.00. Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.




“Enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who has not already spoken to officers who can assist our investigation to get in touch. Drivers who have dash cam footage of the vehicle or pedestrian involved prior to the collision are encouraged to contact us.

“I would like to thank the members of the public who stopped and offered assistance.”
