Sheffield Wednesday striker Josh Windass has rejected Hillsborough’s final contract offer amid interest from Hull City and Coventry City, Football Insider claims.

Sheffield Wednesday have seen some of their star men pen new deals at Hillsborough, but among those still out of contract is Windass.

The 30-year-old has been an influential performer for the Owls since signing on an initial loan in January 2020, with the move made permanent the following summer.

After seven goals and two assists in 28 games in 2023/24, Windass now has 40 goals and 17 assists in 135 outings for the club.

However, according to Football Insider, he is not set to add to that number.

They claim the Sheffield Wednesday striker has turned down the club’s final offer of a new deal. It will mean he is free to leave the club for nothing when his contract officially expires at the end of this month.

The development is sure to pique interest from Hull and Coventry, who are said to be keen.
