“World Senior Championship…pays tribute to the legends who built Snooker in Sheffield”

Today (Friday 10 May 2024) the World Senior Championship (WSS) hosted 600 local Sheffield residents, all from an elderly population, who live in isolation or who are classed as vulnerable, to the Crucible Theater to watch Snooker legends in action.

Sheffield Seniors Day has been brought together by WSS and Age UK to celebrate the heritage of Snooker in Sheffield, along with the people who helped create it. This includes both those who have followed snooker in the city for many years, as well as players who have “been part of the fabric of the Crucible Theater for more than 40 years”.
