A woman flew 3,000 miles to Liverpool after making a ‘scary’ decision.

Two Taylor Swift fans made the ‘scary’ decision to meet for the first time at Anfield.

Paulina Regan, 31, from Massachusetts, was desperate to see Taylor as part of the Eras tour. Tickets for shows at Anfield and elsewhere were in massive demand, as expected.

Luckily, he found a spare ticket – but had to meet a stranger more than 3,000 miles away in Liverpool to get it. Mustafa Fadhil, 20, who is originally from Iraq but now lives in West Yorkshire, was supposed to be at the concert with a friend but they were unable to go.

Despite being complete strangers, they decided to meet at Anfield and were outside the stadium this morning. Paulina told the ECHO: “I saw online that he was selling a ticket and I went with him. We don’t know each other at all.

“It’s my first time going to Liverpool. It’s the first time to enter Europe!

“I flew to London, spent a few days there and came to the show. London and Liverpool are quite similar to Massachusetts aesthetically, but I enjoyed seeing the palaces, churches and cathedrals.

Paulina admitted it was a little “scary” to decide to date someone she didn’t know, but the two quickly became friends. She said: “I wouldn’t support him but we managed and we talked a bit so it’s all good. I’ve seen Taylor before and it’s a great show. I’m very excited.”

Mustafa said: “I thought, why not? The fan base is very nice and community focused and I had an extra ticket that would have gone to waste. We weren’t even supposed to be together, but if we’re both going solo, it’s nice to have someone to talk to while you’re there.”

Taylor will perform at Anfield for the second time tonight. Some Swifties have already started lining up at the stadium this morning to get the best view in the stands for tonight’s concert.

Taylor delivered a special message to the Liverpool crowd last night as thousands of Swifties and big names like Jurgen Klopp watched on.
