Why you’ll see firefighters at Everton’s new stadium today

The fire service has explained why you’ll see firefighters at Everton’s new stadium.

Fire crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service will be at Bramley-Moore Dock today, Friday 14 June. A spokesman for the emergency services posted on X, it will be for a “height related training exercise” at Everton FC’s new stadium.

This will take place at around 2pm and 4pm. The spokesman urged people “not to be alarmed” if they see fire engines there.

The full statement said: “Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is taking part in a height training exercise at Everton FC’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock today. This will take place between approximately 14:00 and 16:00. If you see fire engines in the area, please do not be alarmed.”

It’s not long until the Blues move into their new £500m home at Bramley-Moore Dock, which is due to be completed by the end of the year and ready for the start of the 2025/26 football season. Everton have played at Goodison Park – England’s first purpose-built football ground – since they left Anfield in 1892.
