Leeds United are yet to receive a ‘formal approach’ for £30m star despite claims he will leave

Leeds United can officially start conducting transfer business from today for the next two and a half months.

It is expected to be a busy summer at Elland Road, with plenty of comings and goings expected following Leeds’ failure to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Several stars from Daniel Farke’s side have already been linked with moves in the three weeks since Leeds were beaten by Southampton in the play-off final.

And while Farke would of course like to keep all of his best players, the reality of being a Championship club for the second season in a row means that won’t be the case.

Chairman Paraag Marathe has already admitted that some player changes will need to take place during the window, but insists Leeds will have another strong squad.

Update shared on Crysencio Summerville’s future at Leeds

Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have all been praised for their outings at Elland Road this summer.

Given their age, all four would command some hefty fees for potential suitors and, according to football finance expert Adam Williams, some selling may be necessary before June 30.

That’s because it’s the date that ends the current financial year with £73m still owed in transfer installments by then.

However, according to Athletic , Leeds are yet to receive any ‘formal offer’ for the player who has been deemed ‘most likely’ to move on to Summerville this summer.

Leeds are expected to pocket a fee of around £30million to sell the 22-year-old, who was crowned the Championship’s POTS in April after an incredible individual season.

Several clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Brighton and Crystal Palace, have been linked so far but are yet to appear to have made a formal offer.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds are actively looking to move him on before the end of the month so they can start doing their own transfer business, although Summerville are not expected to force an exit.

Chelsea’s transfer could set off the Leeds transfer domino

Although Chelsea are one of the clubs said to be interested in Summerville this summer, it is actually a move for another winger that could set off transfer dominoes.

Chelsea are in a strong position to win the race for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Summerville is someone the Eagles could move for as a replacement.

With that in mind, if Chelsea can quickly wrap up a deal for Olise, it could be the transfer domino that Leeds need to open their window to.

A £60m release clause has been mentioned for Olise and knowing the amount they would have to spend to replace him would put Leeds in a strong position at the negotiating table.
