Wigan sign Dion Rankine

Wigan Athletic have announced the signing of Premier League striker Dion Rankine from Chelsea on a three-year deal.

After playing eight times for Chelsea U21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, the 21-year-old headed to Exeter City last summer for his first loan in professional football, where he has been a huge success.

However – the decision was made by the player to seek a move from CHELSEA because he knew his time was up – and Wigan came calling very quickly to secure a transfer deal for the lad.

And after making the summer move — Rankine opened up and admitted how excited and excited he is about the change: “I’m so excited to be here,” Dion said.

“It’s been in the works for a while so I’m really excited to be here and seal the deal – I can’t wait to get out there in front of the fans now.

“It’s the right step for my career. I feel like I have a really good opportunity to progress and develop and I just want to play the best football I can here.”

“It’s amazing. I’ve been to the training ground and I’ve seen the stadium here, which is beautiful. When I was here last season with Exeter, I was taking pictures and thinking the stadium is really nice and hopefully I can play as soon as possible .”

With a final message to supporters, Dion added: “I can’t wait to see you all soon and be there in front of you and hopefully get some goals and assists.”

This is a brilliant move on the boy’s part as he knew he needed to make a name for himself away from it CHELSEA – now he’ll have to make sure the move was worth it.
