Jet2 explains when Greek flights will resume after ‘do not travel’ warning.

Jet2 flights to a Greek holiday hotspot have been canceled with passengers told “do not travel to the airport”. But Jet2, which is rivaled by Ryanair, Easyjet, TUI, Wizz Air and more, appears to have let it slip when flights resume to Skiathos after today’s chaos.

All Jet2 flights from Bristol, Birmingham Airport, located near the NEC, between Birmingham and Solihull, as well as East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Newcastle and Manchester airports have been canceled and will be rescheduled. The move only affects flights today (Friday 10 May) – with hopes of normalcy tomorrow.

The company said in a statement: “If you are traveling to Skiathos today, please do not travel to the airport. If you have already traveled to the airport, if possible, we advise you to return home and back to the airport three hours before the new departure time tomorrow.

“If it is not possible to make your way home, please speak to a member of our friendly Red team at the airport who will be happy to help.” The airline added: “We apologize for this change which is unfortunately out of our control.

“It’s rare for our schedules to be disrupted like this, and while this change is out of our control, we understand that it will disrupt your plans at the last minute and we’ve done everything we can to make sure we’re up and running as soon as possible and to minimize delay.

“We have a huge team working hard behind the scenes at our UK headquarters monitoring the situation and on our behalf we apologize again for any inconvenience this delay is causing.” The Hellenic National Meteorological Service has issued warnings for “strong storms” affecting the Sporades archipelago.

The airline issued the weather disruption alert for Skiathos on its website at 4.12am today.
