Police meet in Brent Park after 17-year-old girl reports she was raped by two men

Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl in a park in Brent. Met Police officers were called at 10.43pm on Wednesday June 12 by the teenage girl who said she had just been raped by two men in Tokyngton Recreation Ground, also known as Monks Park.

Met officers attended the scene, not far from Stonebridge Park station, and found the alleged victim to support her before they began hunting her alleged rapists. However, the suspects fled the scene.



Forensic tests were carried out by specialist officers to gather evidence in the ongoing police investigation. A crime scene was set up in Brent Park, but it has since been closed off.

Both men who were arrested remain in custody, it is not known exactly when and where they were arrested. Police have asked anyone with information that could help their investigation to call 101 ref CAD 8176/12 June.

The Met Police issued a statement about the alleged rape. Here it is in full: “Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating an allegation of rape in Brent. Police were called at 10.43pm on June 12 by a 17-year-old girl who claimed she had been raped by two men in Tokyngton. Park.

“Officers responded immediately. They located the victim and supported him before searching the area, but the suspects had left the scene. Specialist officers were notified and forensic examinations were completed. The crime scene is now closed.

“Both men remain in custody at this time. Anyone with information that could help police should call 101 ref CAD 8176/12 June.”
