Dog “stolen” from home prompts police investigation

A police investigation is underway after a dog was reported stolen from a home.

Misty went missing from the house in Barnet Way, Hove, between April 14 and April 20.

The police arrested a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of theft by finding and fraud by false representation.

Sussex Police said the investigation is still ongoing and the dog is still believed to be in the area.

A spokesman for the force said: “Have you seen this dog called Misty which has been reported stolen from an address in Hove?

“Police are continuing to investigate the report from an address in Barnet Way and believe the pet may still be in the Brighton and Hove area.

“A 37-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of theft by finding and fraud by false representation and inquiries are ongoing.

“Officers are keen to trace the dog and anyone with information is asked to report it online to Sussex Police quoting serial 1076 of 24/04.”
