Three were attacked with a hammer and bitten by an ‘out of control’ dog in Coventry

Police were called after a group of people were attacked and bitten by an “out of control” dog in Coventry. It happened earlier this week in Tile Hill.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Empire Road at around 9.30pm on Thursday (June 13). Three people were found to have been hit with a hammer and bitten by a dog, West Midlands Police said.



Officers arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of car theft, assault, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a dangerous dog out of control and possession of a firearm, West Midlands Police said. She has since been released on bail.

Officers seized the dog and it was taken away to secure the kennel, West Midlands Police said. A stolen van and a suspected firearm were also recovered.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called to Empire Road in Coventry at around 9.30pm on Thursday (June 13). Three people were hit with a hammer and bitten by a dog.

“Officers seized a stolen van and a suspected firearm. A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, possession of a firearm, assault, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a dangerous out-of-control dog.
